๐Ÿงช Electrolyte Warning:
Hydrochlorothiazide may lower sodium and potassium levels, while telmisartan may increase potassium in some patients. Blood tests may be recommended to monitor electrolytes and kidney function.
๐Ÿฉบ Kidney Function Warning:
Telmisartan can affect kidney function in susceptible patients, particularly during dehydration or when certain medicines are used together. Kidney function should be monitored when clinically appropriate.
⚠️ Important Interaction:
NSAIDs such as ibuprofen, diclofenac and naproxen may reduce the blood-pressure-lowering effect and may increase the risk of kidney problems in susceptible patients.
๐Ÿ’ง Dehydration & Low BP Warning:
Hydrochlorothiazide increases urine production. Excessive fluid loss may cause dehydration, dizziness or low blood pressure, especially during vomiting, diarrhea or hot weather.
๐Ÿคฐ Pregnancy Warning:
Telmisartan should not be used during pregnancy because medicines that block the renin-angiotensin system can cause serious fetal harm. Contact your doctor immediately if pregnancy occurs.
