Important Do not stop or change the dose without medical advice
๐Ÿงช Electrolyte Warning:
Chlorthalidone can lower sodium and potassium levels, while telmisartan can increase potassium in some patients. Periodic blood tests may be recommended to monitor electrolytes and kidney function.
๐Ÿฉบ Kidney Function Warning:
Telmisartan may affect kidney function in susceptible patients, particularly when dehydration or certain other medicines are present. Kidney function should be monitored when clinically appropriate.
๐Ÿ’ง Dehydration & Low BP Warning:
Chlorthalidone increases urine production. Excessive fluid loss may cause dehydration, dizziness or low blood pressure. Seek medical advice if severe vomiting, diarrhea or significant fluid loss occurs.
⚠️ Important Interaction:
NSAIDs such as ibuprofen, diclofenac and naproxen may reduce the blood-pressure-lowering effect and may increase the risk of kidney problems in susceptible patients.
๐Ÿคฐ Pregnancy Warning:
Telmisartan should not be used during pregnancy because medicines that block the renin-angiotensin system can cause serious fetal harm. Consult your doctor immediately if pregnancy occurs during treatment.
